Load Security Course


The safe operation of commercial vehicles is dependent on a number of variables that are addressed by the standards in the National Safety Code. The way a load is secured will either contribute to or detract from the overall safety potential of the vehicle in question. The purpose of this course is to:

  • To provide a review of the standards and regulations that govern load security on-road by truck and trailers

  • Emphasis on Ontario requirements

  • Reference applicable laws, regulations and guidelines on configuring and securing loads

  • Demonstrate knowledge of common security devices and equipment and how to use them

  • Identify if a load is secure

This course is six hours in length, both in the classroom and in the field with formal and practical exercises. Maximum 20 participants. Facility to be provided by company. Supporting documentation will be provided for company training files.
